Nike presenting sponsor of Hank Aaron BIG SHOW: Battle for the Golden Spikes

From their inception in 1964, Nike has chosen to align with athletes that not only champion the pinnacle of sport, but also are champions of social justice and giving back to the youth. Nike prides itself on being a multinational, multicultural company that serves every community worldwide using their successes as a springboard to give back to these very communities that they serve. Few athletes have been able to mirror this mission like the legendary Hank Aaron. As a show of their support of his endeavors, successes and contributions to the game of baseball and society as a whole, Nike has stepped up to be

the presenting sponsor of the upcoming 2021 “Big Show” at the Hank Aaron Sports Academy in Jackson, Mississippi. Nike will honor each winning team with the exact shoe made in honor of Hank Aaron and worn by MLB All Stars at the 2021 All Star game (played in Colorado at Coors Field) as a trophy to each winning team to celebrate and forever commemorate their success both on and off the field and in the community.

The Nike Air Griffey Max Metal is decorated with signature detailing of the four jerseys that Hank wore throughout his career – the Indianapolis Clowns, the Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta Braves, and the Milwaukee Brewers. On the interior of the ankle strap is a crowded cluster of his massive achievements, which include 25 All-Star Game selections, his 755 home runs, and many more marks that may never be replicated. His 44 jersey number is featured on the lockdown portion of the strap, while a sockliner features a bottlecap – a nod to Hank’s penchant to practice his swing using found objects.

These cleats were made just for Nike athletes for the 2021 MLB All-Star game, so unfortunately they will not be available to the public, making this award even more special to those winners of The Big

Show.For more information, visit www.hankaaronsports.com
